Sierra Leone’s population grew slightly from 1990 to 1999 for the decade. As can be seen, the country had a drop in its population growth from 1992 to 1992 due to the war. The population grew from 4.3 million  people in 1990 to 4.4 million people in 1999. As a result, the population grew by 2.3% in the 1990s (1990 to 1999). Additionally, the total life expectancy in Sierra Leone is approximately 55 years (2019). Lastly, around 40% of Sierra Leone’s population lives in urban areas.

Most importantly, the life expectancy in Sierra Leone has increased from 31.5 years in 1960 to 55 years in 2019.
